How do I apply?
Application is an easy and straightforward process. We ask that you fill out a simple form and include an essay (2-5 pages) explaining your reasons for wanting to attend and aportfolio of your current work (digital format only). Note: your portfolio should consist of coherent bodies of work and your work should reflect an engagement with transdisciplinary forms of researching and making. Please apply via an application form on our web site. Applications require a $25 application fee. All applications are due by April 1, 2010. Please note that spaces will go fast so we advise you to be in touch with us as soon as possible.
As a professor or institution how can I get involved?
Mildred's Lane hosts an excitingly rare and prestigious intensive curriculum that is seeking to co-evolve institutional relationships. We wish to work with schools to co-develop courses of study as intensive residency programs at Mildred's Lane that fit into an on-going curriculum. We are offering a unique situation in which young students can be involved in a shared experience on large-scale project-based practices with ecological and social relevance.
Can institutions hold retreats or conferences?
Yes. This is an ideal site for institutions to hold retreats, conferences or think tanks. It is a tranquil site far from distractions deep in the woods that is has a unique cultural atmosphere to catalyze creative discussion and making. We are equipped to host 20 people, with rooms for discussions and meetings as well as presentation spaces etc. In addition to site amenities, we provide gourmet meals with organic garden fresh produce and we are in close proximity to other museums, cultural sites and institutions.
